BRIDGE ART AND POETRY PROGRAMS
Bridge Group Artists began 18 years ago, with very little if any formal training, under the direction of art therapist Judith Raskin-Rosenthal. Later the group attracted individuals with some art education or experience. The Group has been featured on NY 1 News and other media outlets.
Bridge Poetry workshops have been held weekly for 14 years under the direction of Pat Thackray. Our Poetry Anthology was a 2002 Gradiva Award nominee for Best Poetry by The National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis.
**In October in celebration of World Mental Health Day, Bridge artists were invited to exhibit their work at AstraZeneca’s
corporate headquarters in Delaware. In June, Bridge Group Artists had a second exhibit at MoMA of their work representing
their interpretation of major works of art at the Museum. Bridge Group Artists were selected as 1st Place winner of the
F.E.G.S. Haym Salomon Art Competition. The Award recognizes the commitment to arts programming by human
service agencies and honors individual artists who have produced an outstanding work of art.
